Associate Professor Munish Puri is a leader in the field of Industrial biotechnology and working as Group head bioprocessing at Centre for Biotechnology, Deakin University, Australia. He has contributed towards the development of purification of novel therapeutic proteins/ enzymes from variety of sources (microbes, animal and plant cell) and to improve their functional efficiency, specific activity for carrying out transformations of flavonoids/ pharmaceutical intermediates/animal cell product with health benefits. He is also working on the biophysical characterization and crystallization of novel proteins to evaluate rigidity of protein structures which is of paramount importance in immobilization and also for assigning new function.
