I am currently doing a D.Phil in structural biology at the University of Oxford, funded by the Wellcome trust. My project is examining the interactions between the malarial protein PfEMP1, and proteins of the host red blood cell cytoskeleton. Although much of my focus is currently experimental, performing protein purification, crystallization, biophysics analysis and NMR, under the supervision of Dr. Ioannis Vakonakis, I also use computational methods in my work, such as structure prediction, homology modeling and molecular dynamics, under the supervision of Prof. Mark Sansom.
